Analytics Show Dodge Remains Automotive Social Media Leader

Shareablee Inc, a social media analytics company, works with clients from 15 countries worldwide.

With social media climbing the ladder towards become a mainstay among other, more mainstream marketing channels, it’s becoming more and more essential for not just for individuals, but for brands to make sure they are up to date on all the latest practices. Recent studies performed by social media analysts from Shareablee, Inc show that when it comes to automotive brands on social media, Dodge is leading the pack.

“It is great to see Dodge recognized as a fast riser on social media,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, FCA – Global. “Having a strong social presence is an important part of our marketing strategy for all our brands. We strive to deliver content that is true to each individual brand persona, is relevant and evokes a reaction from our followers.”

In the time between January 1st and March 15th, 2016, Dodge was able to generate 5.2 million social actions, which ranks number one categorically. The number of social actions is not only on top of the list, but also more than doubles the second-ranked automaker.

“Dodge and SRT vehicles have passionate fans who are not just customers, but real brand advocates,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “The fact that Dodge generated 5.2 million social interactions so far this year, nearly double that of the second-ranked automaker in the study, really reinforces our belief that when the information you share is authentic and organic, people engage and share the content.”

It’s important to think about the ranking in terms of how well the auto company adjusts with changes over time, and how that reflects on the brands capability to adapt for a growing online marketing world in the future. With this number one ranking, Dodge proves that it not only understands the current state of the industry, but also has what it takes to find similar success going forward.

Founder and CEO of Shareablee Tania Yuki said, “Dodge has seen nearly five times the growth (373 percent) in social engagement compared to the mass-market automotive industry (78 percent) so far this year. Particularly on Instagram, Dodge's creative use of user-generated content has given a platform for its most loyal enthusiasts to contribute and engage with the brand."

Dodge’s social media success is in part due to its community of fans and a corporate strategy that leverages culturally relevant moments in time. These strategies include frequent calls to action for users to upload their own content online with the hashtag #ThatsMyDodge. It also has some expertise on integrating holidays and current events into social content to provide fans with a real chance to engage with the brand.
