Were you able to “leaf” summer behind and jump into fall? For autumn lovers, this is probably the easiest thing to do. While Tucson residents see minimal changes in the weather, they definitely enjoy celebrating the season. That’s why we are excited to share some of our favorite things to do in Tucson during this wonderful season.

1. Take a Hike. There are a ton of hiking trails in the Tucson area and one of our favorites places is Mount Lemmon. When the time is right, you can hike trails in this area to find fall color hot spots. After all, it’s not officially autumn unless you see color changes in the leaves, right?
2. Enjoy Pumpkin Flavored Everything. It’s the only time of the year where pumpkin flavored foods and drinks hit the shelves, so take advantage of this and get your favorite flavored food items while they last. If you’re in the mood for baking, make your own pumpkin flavored desserts. Bake some pumpkin cookies or a pumpkin pie. Better yet, find a new recipe online.
3. Watch a College Football Game. It’s finally football season and there’s no better way to celebrate fall than attending a game and supporting your Arizona Wildcats! Don’t like football? Get out of the house and attend another sports event. Live sports games are so much fun, especially when you go with your family.
4. Prepare for Halloween. With Halloween around the corner, get ready for the spooky holiday by planning your costumes and decorating. Make a date with your kids to buy pumpkins and Halloween decorations and supplies. Then decorate your entire house and have fun while you’re doing it.

5. Go to a Festival. The beginning of autumn also means the beginning of festival season. It is the perfect time to explore and find local arts, food, and entertainment all around town at one of Tucson’s many festivals.
