About The Tucson Mopar Club

Tucson Mopar Club is where the young and old come to appreciate the old and the new, the classic and the modern, together, sharing the passion for Mopars in a family atmosphere.

The club has been around for years, but in the last 9 years they have met regularly every other month at Larry H. Miller Dodge RAM Tucson at the corner of 22nd and Columbus. Generally, the club will draw an average of 75 cars, but there has been as many as 100. The sponsored car show features Tony G~DJ, free hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas and chips as people walk around.

Annually in the Fall and Spring Tucson Mopar Club meets at Old Vail Hot Rods where all makes and models are welcome. At this event we have six classes with first, second, and third-place plaques for each class. There is no entry fee for this show.

Membership in the club is free. Your Tucson Mopar Club Card gets you employee pricing on parts or accessories at Larry H. Miller Dodge RAM Tucson. Additionally, members receive 10% off body labor at Dan's Body Shop.

The club yearly attends SoCal LX which is usually a Chrysler supported event with 1876 cars this year 2018, late model Chargers, Challengers, 300s and Magnums from almost all the states across America including Canada.

Another highlight of our club is the annual Muscle Cars on the Strip in Las Vegas formerly MOPAR at the strip. For that event we have a caravan that leaves from Tucson gathering other car clubs from across Arizona. Before reaching Muscle Cars on the Strip, the clubs have a car show first in Phoenix and then another in Kingman. Last year marked a 15 year anniversary for this event.

I drove down to Tucson Saturday October 6th to see Rick Wamsley and the Tucson Mopar Club car show. I also had a chance to visit with Rhonda (Mod Top Roadrunner) and several of the show's helpers. Next year is their 10th anniversary. Of course, I took the opportunity to drop off our show's flyers and Rick announced it several times on the PA. To my surprise, Rick also announced Chrysler outsold Ford in total sales during September 2018! Their club is having an organized ride up to our show in March. Thanks, Rick.
The Tucson Mopar Club show is every two months at Larry Miller Dodge Ram. They run their club a little differently. There are no dues, no officers and no official meetings outside of the car shows. The dealership provides hamburgers, hot dogs, chip and sodas free. They also have Tony Granito on DJ services, raffles, giveaways and a 50/50. It was great to see a new mix of 90 classic and new cars. Most notable was a 1937 Chrysler Air Flow. 
I had a great time and encourage our members to head down a time or two a year. Their shows are the first Saturday every other month and the next one is December 1st.
